by admin on May.29, 2011, under news
Valleyheart, the third album by alternative rock outfit She Wants Revenge, was released, May 23rd on Five Seven Records, a division of Eleven Seven Music. Valleyheart is a musical love letter to the band’s West Coast upbringing, and is a refreshed and inspired body of work that serves as their defining musical statement. The album is currently streaming in full on She Wants Revenge‘s Facebook page, in addition to AOL Music and MSN Music. An exclusive look at the making of Valleyheart premiered today on ArtistDirect.com.
For She Wants Revenge‘s core duo of Justin Warfield (vocals/guitars/programming) )and Adam Bravin (bass/keyboards/sounds/tones), years of living on the road caused them to look homeward to the neighborhood they both grew up in, Los Angeles’s San Fernando Valley. Now, She Wants Revenge has emerged with an album that shakes off their influences, establishing them as a creative force to be reckoned with while also proving that, in fact, you can go home again.
In support of Valleyheart, the band has hit the road for a headlining tour with support from Nico Vega. The tour kicked off May 13th in Kansas City, MO at The Midland and wraps up on June 19th with a show at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, CA.

Dave Gahan and Kevin Lyman to be honored at MusiCares benefit concert
by admin on Mar.17, 2011, under news
The seventh annual MusiCares MAP FundSM benefit concert will honor Depeche Mode lead singer Dave Gahan and Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Friday, May 6, 2011. Gahan will be honored with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for his dedication and support of the MusiCares® MAP Fund, and for his commitment to helping other addicts with the addiction and recovery process. Lyman will be the recipient of MusiCares’ From the Heart Award for his unconditional friendship and dedication to the mission and goals of the organization. All proceeds will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.
Hosted by comedian Greg Behrendt, the evening will feature a special performance by Gahan with drummer Victor Indrizzo, producer/musician Vincent Jones, and bassist Martyn LeNoble, as well as performances by the groundbreaking alternative rock band Jane’s Addiction, two-time GRAMMY® winners Ozomatli, and a special acoustic performance by Paramore. Adam Bravin and Justin Warfield from She Wants Revenge will DJ live during dinner. Additional artists will be announced shortly.
“Our annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit focuses attention on the disease of addiction and the challenges and rewards of the path to recovery,” said Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy® and MusiCares. “While substance abuse issues are prevalent in every sector of society, the music industry is a particularly visible microcosm of these struggles, and it is critical that we take this opportunity to generate resources that will provide help to members of the music community in need. Both Dave and Kevin have been steadfast supporters of the MusiCares MAP Fund and champions of recovery, so it is very meaningful that we will be honoring them this year.”
“The MusiCares MAP Fund is an unbelievably important and courageous organization,” said Gahan. “They continue to make a momentous commitment to the music community, and I am proud to support their ongoing work in raising awareness and funds.”
“My work in the music industry continues to be extremely rewarding,” said Lyman. “But I’ve also seen the devastation that addiction brings to artists, crew members, and others who work in this business, and that is why I wholeheartedly support the work of MusiCares. For the past two years, they’ve sent staff members on the road with the Vans Warped Tour to bring information and resources directly to music people, and I know they provide similar resources to artists, festivals, and awards shows around the country.”
