SAVATAGE metal giants Zak Stevens, Jon Olivia and Chris Caffery appear together on a track called ‘Claws‘, off the upcoming Serenity CD by ROCKSTAR SUPERSTAR PROJECT. Serenity, which is the first ever music CD recommended by Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors, has taken nearly two years to complete and is almost here, just in time to kick off National Recovery Month 2010.

Super Star comments: “My brother and I were and still are HUGE Savatage fans and we thought it was a no-brainer to invite them to participate on this project. Savatage is one of those bands that will live on forever in the hearts of metal fans all over the world and what better of a band to perform the heaviest track on the CD?”

“Our goal with the CD is to send a strong message that living a life without drugs and alcohol is the only way to achieve your dreams,” adds Rock Star. “Since we know there are kids who would rather listen to music than read a book, we are using music to reach them in the language they understand.”

CIRCLE II CIRCLE, the band led by former SAVATAGE frontman Zak Stevens, will release its fifth album, entitled “Consequence Of Power“, on September 10 via AFM Records. The second concept effort for the band was recorded at Sweet Spot Studios and was described in a press release as “a melodic power metal album catering to all fans from the old SAVATAGE era to all CIRCLE II CIRCLE European fans and breaking new ground for an all new fan base in America.”

CIRCLE II CIRCLE‘s current lineup consists of Zak Stevens (vocals), Andy Lee (guitar), Mitch Stewart (bass/keyboards) and new drummer Johnny Osborn, formerly of DR. BUTCHER.

ICARUS WITCH Reports: “It’s never to early to make your plans for the international heavy metal holiday Halloween weekend. This has been a banner year for the Witch – already including a North American tour backing original IRON MAIDEN vocalist, Paul DiAnno, support slots with LIZZY BORDEN, a high profile appearance at Warriors Of Metal Open Air, an upcoming gig with Otep and a soon-to-launch summer tour opening for Y&T that peaks with a slot at Midwest Rock Fest alongside TWISTED SISTER! As previously reported, Icarus Witch have been confirmed to open for Y&T‘s upcoming July/August 2010 tour.
Long-time rock icons Y&T will be touring in support of Facemelter, their first studio album in 13 years on Frontiers Records. Icarus Witch will continue promoting their recent release, Draw Down The Moon, this time with former DIRTY LOOKS guitarist/backing vocalist, Christopher Shaner as the new frontman and DI’ANNO guitarist, Ed Skero on 2nd lead guitar.
“It’s a good thing we didn’t unpack out bags from the Paul DiAnno tour yet because we just got word from Brian Perera at Cleopatra Records that Icarus Witch is confirmed to tour America once again“, states Icarus Witch bassist Jason Myers. “This July and August we will be crisscrossing the country opening for one of our all-time favorite bands, Y&T! Their classics like ‘Mean Streak‘, ‘Midnight In Tokyo‘, ‘Forever‘, ‘Don’t Stop Runnin‘ and ‘Summertime Girls‘ have always been the perfect soundtrack to summer partying.
