Virginia’s MUNICIPAL WASTE reports that the band has just completed work on their fifth studio album. Lead singer Tony Foresta is ready & willing to unveil the name of the new album & its guests:

“We’re calling the record The Fatal Feast and are expecting it to come out early next year along with a healthy dose of touring. The record is also going to feature some guest spots from John Connelly [guitarist & vocalist for Nuclear Assault], Steve Moore [who plays bass & synthesizers for Zombi], and [vocalist] Tim Barry [ex-Avail, Tim Barry]. The Waste is really looking forward to providing you with the soundtrack to the end of the world in 2012. See you there!”

TESTAMENT frontman Chuck Billy has confirmed to Terrorizer that drummer Paul Bostaph (SLAYER, EXODUS, FORBIDDEN) has left the band.

Bostaph was absent from the recording sessions for TESTAMENT‘s new album, “The Dark Roots Of Earth“, which will be released on April 27, 2012 via Nuclear Blast Records. The Dark Roots Of Earth features Gene Hoglan on drums because Paul has been out of action due to a “serious injury” and unable to record or tour.

Chuck explains that Paul has decided to step down permanently, leaving the band with the task of finding a new member.

“We just found out last week Paul Bostaph is not coming back to the band, he’s starting his own new project and doing some things on his own. So we’re actually going to be holding a couple of auditions with probably small group of drummers that we chose – we don’t want to have a revolving drum stool, we have a new record, we want a permanent drummer.”

KAIROS was recorded once again at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil and produced and mixed by Roy Z. (JUDAS PRIEST, HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON, HELLOWEEN). Mastering was handled by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering. Cover artwork was handled this time around by artist Erich Sayers.

Developers of the post-apocalyptic massively multiplayer online game (MMO), Fallen Earth, today announced a partnership with Nuclear Blast Records the world’s largest independent heavy-metal record label. With plans to incorporate several of the label’s popular tracks into the game, developers have alerted players that life in the wasteland is about to get a little more metal.
In the next month, developers plan to uncover a brand new underground bunker bar in game, introducing Nuclear Blast Radio and featuring hit tracks from several of the label’s artists including MESHUGGAH, SOILWORK, and TESTAMENT.
“We listen to so much of Nuclear Blast’s music at the office,” said Senior Game Designer for Fallen Earth, Marie Croall. “This is an awesome opportunity to share our favorite music with our players.”

According to developers, artists and tracks featured on Nuclear Blast Radio will cycle out periodically, offering a new variety for listeners.
Nuclear Blast USA’s Label Manager Gerardo Martínez comments on the partnership: “The music and gaming worlds are natural allies. Luckily, we’re working with game developers who know quality music. Get ready to hear the sounds of Fallen Earth on tour busses across the country!”

On Saturday, March 26th, Virginia’s emotive, epic metal band WHILE HEAVEN WEPT will be headlining a benefit concert at Volume 11 Tavern in Raleigh, North Carolina for Tony “Dio” Leonard, a local metal promoter who recently underwent a nephrectomy.

WHILE HEAVEN WEPT guitarist & founding member Tom Phillips shares the following: “Tony’s family. He works at a music store and organizes lots of metal fests in the area, so he’s a good friend to lots of bands. All of us know he’s been a lifelong Dio fan and because of this, we gave him the nickname ‘Dio’… and it’s all meant with the deepest of respect. Doctors found a lesion on his kidney, which had to get removed, so we’re doing the benefit to help offset his medical expenses.”

Other bands performing include Twisted Tower Dire, Widow, Hellrazor, and Dark Design.

The benefit show is All Ages. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the entrance fee is $7.

WHILE HEAVEN WEPT signed with Nuclear Blast Records in November, 2010. Fear Of Infinity will be their new label debut and is the follow-up studio album to 2009’s Vast Oceans Lachrymose. They’re confirmed to perform on the center stage at the ProgPowerUSA XII festival on Saturday, September 17th in Atlanta, Georgia.

Friday the 13th is universally feared for unleashing the darkest imaginable forces in human history. When the entity about to burst forth has waited hidden, seething and festering for a quarter of a century before unloading its gross assault on the senses, the outcome is potentially spectacular. Such is the case with NWOBHM legends HELL, who on May 13th in Europe will release the first studio album of their career, Human Remains, through Nuclear Blast Records. The album’s North American release date will be announced soon.

One of the true founding fathers of occult metal and cited as a huge indirect influence to many bands, HELL formed in 1982 from the carcasses of U.K. metal bands Reace Against Time and Paralex, whose White Lightning EP was listed by Metallica as a favorite and was subsequently included on the Lars Ulrich / Geoff Barton ‘NWOBHM ’79 Revisited’ sampler album.

Despite over five years of constant touring, HELL were cruelly overlooked by the ’80s music press, who just didn’t get it. The band was just too different, too extreme, too musically intelligent and far too thought-provoking for all but the most enlightened music listener to understand them. The final crushing blow came when their long-awaited 1986 album deal with Mausoleum collapsed as the label went bankrupt, followed by the tragic suicide of singer/guitarist, Dave Halliday, in 1987. The remaining members drew a line in the sand and stopped playing overnight.

Meanwhile, a teenaged Andy Sneap was a permanent fixture in the front row of almost every show HELL played and was also taught to play guitar by Halliday. He then went on to form Sabbat and became a world-renowned metal producer. Upon meeting again, the remaining members of HELL – Kev Bower (guitar & keyboards), Tony Speakman (bass) and Tim Bowler (drums) – talked with Andy about re-recording the old material to release in conjunction with the old demos. With Sneap replacing Halliday on guitar and completed by David Bower on vocals, the band has recorded 10 HELL classics from the ‘80s.

A highly respected European magazine has declared HELL as thee band to watch out for in 2011 and has already described Human Remains as one of the best things they have heard in the last 15 years.
Like a venomous creature preserved in amber, HELL’s legacy becomes reborn – pure and untainted, cast forth screaming.
