January 2nd, 2012 – Salt Lake City, UT band Royal Bliss is gearing up for the release of their new album Waiting Out The Storm on January 24th, 2012. The new single “Crazy“ will be impacting rock radio in January.  The band will be hitting the road on a co-headlining tour with Bobaflex starting January 6th.

Royal Bliss has been making their mark across the country for years now. Constant writing, recording, and touring have helped build the success of the band. The wide variety of influences from Johnny Cash to Snoop Dogg to Led Zeppelin and the Toadies with everything in between have melded a sound that cannot be denied. In 2009 their Capitol Records debut Life In-Between charted in the Billboard top 200 and was #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.   The album produced 2 top 25 songs (“Save Me” and “We Did Nothing Wrong”). Touring with acts such as Buckcherry, Candlebox, Chevelle, Kid Rock, and Papa Roach has only increased the demand for the dynamic band from Utah. From the on-stage antics of front man Neal Middleton, to the energetic live shows, Royal Bliss continues to win fans over, all over the globe.

The band’s new album Waiting Out The Storm was produced by Brian Virtue (Chevelle, Deftones, 30 Seconds To Mars) and is a healthy dose of timeless rock energy combined with sing-a-long pop hooks, poetic and heart-felt honest lyrics that has been missing in rock radio for quiet some time.

Tom Morello is set to release the solo album, World Wide Rebel Songs, on August 30th via New West Records. The 12-track set is the anticipated follow up to the 2008 The Nightwatchman album The Fabled City and was produced by Morello. “It Begins Tonight” is impacting rock/alternative radio now.

The track “Save The Hammer For The Man” was co-written with Ben Harper and features Harper on vocals and guitar. While Morello’s solo albums as The Nightwatchman have primarily been acoustic affairs, World Wide Rebel Songs, features a full electric band, “The Freedom Fighter Orchestra” (comprised of Dave Gibbs on bass, Carl Restivo on guitar and piano, Chris Joyner on keyboard, and Eric Gardner on drums).

World Wide Rebel Songs is the 14th studio album of Tom Morello’s influential career.

When describing World Wide Rebel Songs, Morello stated, “Troubled times call out for troubled songs. World Wide Rebel Songs is an album of rousing hopelessness and this time The Nightwatchman has brought along his electric guitar to tip the scales. I wanted to capture a vibe midway between Johnny Cash and Che Guevara, murder ballads and Molotov anthems.”

Tom Morello recently released a benefit EP called Union Town. All profits from Union Town will benefit The America Votes Labor Unity Fund via SaveWorkers.org. The studio recording consists of 8 pro-union songs featuring three Morello originals, as well as the Woody Guthrie classic, “This Land Is Your Land” (including the more radical, often censored verses).

Tom Morello is an original member of the rock bands Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, two artists responsible for multiple Grammy Awards and a combined 30 million albums sold worldwide. He released his first album as The Nightwatchman in 2007. In 2009, Morello formed the band Street Sweeper Social Club with Boots Riley of The Coup. Morello has also been recognized by Rolling Stone as one of the “100 Greatest Guitar Players of All-Time (#26).”

We don’t need to rave about the well-known legacy of the man who is Scott Weinrich, better known as WINO. With dozens of albums released throughout his time spent in THE OBSESSED, SAINT VITUS, SHINE, SPIRIT CARAVAN, THE HIDDEN HAND, SHRINEBUILDER, Dave Grohl‘s PROBOT project and much more since the late ’70s, his mammoth and varied resume spans nearly three full decades, essentially set him up as a purveyor and forerunner of the entire genre we now call doom rock. A true legend; this is Wino. But, with the release of the humble but legendary musician’s new solo album, Adrift, a side of the man that most haven’t heard is being uncovered for the first time.

Answering the call from his friends and supporters to record an acoustic solo album following the sudden and tragic passing of friend and bandmate Jon Blank, who appeared on Wino‘s first “solo release” Punctuated Equilibrium album in 2009, he set to work on his most personal and powerful recording to date. Adrift is a revealing alternative view of this underground legend’s personality and history. Stripped down to the bare minimum — just his voice and his guitar — the songs on Adrift follow classic American songwriting ideals offering a compelling mixture of emotion and storytelling.

Adrift is set for official release on respected German label Exile On Mainstream Records March 8th, 2011 in North America, the label now distributed domestically by E1 Entertainment. A limited edition vinyl version of the album featuring extended liner notes and more is to be released in the US on January 18th by Volcom Entertainment.

Wino will hit the road stateside this February on a short acoustic tour, rocking alongside longtime friend, and also Shrinebuilder bandmate, SCOTT KELLY (NEUROSIS). The tour will be in support of the upcoming split 7″ between Wino and Kelly, to be released early in the year by Volcom, as well as the Adrift album. The tour will venture through California, Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland and New York, showcasing both legendary artists each in solo, acoustic mode.

HOLLYWOOD, CA (July 2, 2010) – Paul Gilbert unleashes his 3rd instrumental masterpiece on Shrapnel Records, August 3rd to the world. “FUZZ UNIVERSE is my third guitar instrumental album,” explains Gilbert. “Being a fan of pop music and rock bands, I am a reluctant convert into the art of instrumental rock music. But after touring with Joe Satriani’s G3, I witnessed firsthand the power of the electric guitar to take center stage and rock the audience. Playing my guitar-driven songs live was a blast! This discovery led to a huge increase in my touring as a solo artist. In the last couple of years, I’ve played nearly 150 shows all over the world, with my guitar leading the way.”

 FUZZ UNIVERSE title is inspired by Gilbert being so immersed in the world of guitar it made him realize that he lives in a FUZZ UNIVERSE. “Every generation of guitar players has their own terminology for the rock guitar sound: Distortion, Overdrive, Gain, Crunch, Saturation, Drive etc. For me, the word is FUZZ”

 Gilbert’s extraordinary talent of arranging/composing lends to the new music’s fresh melodies for songs that shows his true diversity and only in Gilberts words will you understand:

 “On FUZZ UNIVERSE, I think I’ve taken a giant step closer to the ultimate rock guitar sound and playing of my dreams. I’ve used many of my signature techniques from RACER X and MR. BIG, but twisted them into new chords, grooves, and emotions.

As always, my influences are diverse and not what you might expect from a “heavy metal” artist. While I was writing the songs for FUZZ UNIVERSE, I was immersing myself in Bulgarian Female Choir music, Baroque lute and violin pieces, Johnny Cash songs about trains, cows, mules, and mining coal, the Bee Gees, and Ronnie James Dio. I mix all this into my head, and out came endless new ideas for my guitar to chew on.

After several months of being locked in my writing room, I gathered my touring band together and headed to the studio. Jeff Bowders played drums. Craig Martini played bass. Emi Gilbert (my wife) played keyboards. And I bent the guitar strings until I couldn’t play anymore.

As usual, there are no dramatic stories here. No heroin overdoses, motorcycle accidents, celebrity divorces, or band-member boxing matches. The emotion, drama, and power are all in the music. That is the universe that I want to live in”

 Paul Gilbert is regarded internationally as one of the greatest players in the industry. Starting his recording career with Shrapnel Records as a teenager in the late 80’s, Gilbert remains one of the most active guitarists from the original shred guitar scene. The 11-track collection, produced, recorded and penned by Danzig, is laced with Glenn‘s lycanthropic growls and blues-infected wailing. Tracks including “Black Candy,” “The Revengeful,” and the first single, “On A Wicked Night,” emit a spectral glow to rival the highest points in Danzig‘s colossal discography. Part 1 of the exquisite two-part “Pyre of Souls” opens with acoustic guitar, haunting piano, Glenn‘s plainsong vocal, and an almost dirge-like feel; Part II explodes with electric guitars and a driving, mesmerizing cadence.

Joining Glenn in the studio for the recording of Deth Red Sabaoth were guitarist Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), a Danzig cohort on and off since 1997, and drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Seventh Void). While Kelly has toured with Glenn intermittently since 2002, this is the first time he has recorded with the band. Glenn handled the bass chores for most of the album, and played drums on “Black Candy.”

As is with all of Danzig‘s releases, the CD cover artwork for Deth Red Sabaoth is provocative and ominous. The cover is an original piece created specifically for the CD by the award-winning artist Joe Chiodo whose work has graced not only Danzig‘s Verotik publishing line, but the covers of numerous graphic novels and comic books, including “X-Men Unlimited.” Deth Red Sabaoth isn’t the first time one of Chiodo‘s paintings has been part of a Danzig package – one of his erotic “good girl” pinups was part of 2007′s The Lost Tracks of Danzig.
Deth Red Sabaoth marks Danzig‘s ninth studio venture that began back in 1988 with the Rick Rubin-produced, Platinum-certified, Danzig. A live version of his oedipal projectile “Mother,” was a major hit, and added to his iconic status that began a decade earlier when he founded the near-mythic punk band Misfits and then Samhain. Sales of ten-million albums later and having been dubbed “goth-punk’s godfather” by SPIN, Glenn Danzig is arguably the most versatile talent to emerge from hardcore’s first wave, and truly is a renaissance man – a graphic designer, photographer, comic book publisher and composer.
Over his decades-long career, Glenn Danzig‘s intense musical and lyrical statements have left a permanent mark on rock music, and continue to do so going into the 21st century. Glenn’s song “13,” originally written for Johnny Cash and then recorded for Glenn‘s own Satan’s Child album, was the opening song in last year’s box office smash and Golden Globe winner, “The Hangover.”
