Y&T issue tour & Phil Kennemore update from the road
by admin on Aug.05, 2010, under news
“As fans in Oregon, Washington, and Colorado witnessed at the recent Y&T shows, the band has been kicking serious butt on this summer’s Facemelter tour. Even though Phil (Kennemore / bass)was experiencing severe back pain ever since the June European tour, he soldiered on and played the shows anyway. Now, with much regret, Phil‘s doctors have ordered him off the tour to get the treatment he needs to move forward.
Extremely proud of the new Facemelter album, and the work that he, Dave, John, and Mike have done, Phil insisted the tour continue. So to honor his wish, we flew in a bass player to sub for Phil until he is able to return. As the band’s manager, Jill Meniketti, posted on the website discussion forum about these recent events, Phil says: “On with the show.”
The guys are so sorry that they had to cancel the show in Springfield, IL, but Phil was receiving local treatment and tests in St. Louis and the band was unable to continue until that important business was finished. With less than 24-hour’s notice, Brad Lang (JET RED, WAR & PEACE, FOREIGNER) was gracious enough to step up to fill in on bass for the time being to help out the band and keep the tour continuing. He’s extremely proud and excited to be playing with Y&T and helping out for Phil. Brad‘s doing a great job of representing the Y&T live experience. We want to thank you all for giving him the warm welcome he’s received on the shows he’s played so far.
For the record, Y&T has only cancelled one show on this US tour — Springfield, IL — and that one cancellation was due to Phil‘s medical needs. Any other shows that have been cancelled or changed or moved in any way are the fault of the agent and/or local promoter for that particular original show.
We hope all of you fans who live near where Y&T is playing the next few weeks will come out to support the band, as they play the classics, as well as songs from the new Facemelter CD.”

by admin on Jun.27, 2010, under news
ICARUS WITCH Reports: “It’s never to early to make your plans for the international heavy metal holiday Halloween weekend. This year, the place for true metalheads to be is Marietta, Georgia for the Pathfinder MetalFest 2010. Icarus Witch are excited to announce they have been added as one of the featured artists on this stellar bill that will be headlined by JON OLIVA’S PAIN!
This has been a banner year for the Witch – already including a North American tour backing original IRON MAIDEN vocalist, Paul DiAnno, support slots with LIZZY BORDEN, a high profile appearance at Warriors Of Metal Open Air, an upcoming gig with Otep and a soon-to-launch summer tour opening for Y&T that peaks with a slot at Midwest Rock Fest alongside TWISTED SISTER! The news of playing with yet another hero in SAVATAGE / TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA vocal legend Jon Oliva just gives the band and its circle a fall to look forward to as well.
The Pathfinder MetalFest will be held October 30, 2010 at The Local ConcertVenue (1440 Roswell Rd. in) Marietta, GA. For more info on the event which will soon be announcing the full lineup, visit the official forum here.”

Icarus Witch will continue promoting their recent release, Draw Down The Moon, this time with former DIRTY LOOKS guitarist/backing vocalist, Christopher Shaner as the new frontman and DI’ANNO guitarist, Ed Skero on 2nd lead guitar.
“It’s a good thing we didn’t unpack out bags from the Paul DiAnno tour yet because we just got word from Brian Perera at Cleopatra Records that Icarus Witch is confirmed to tour America once again“, states Icarus Witch bassist Jason Myers. “This July and August we will be crisscrossing the country opening for one of our all-time favorite bands, Y&T! Their classics like ‘Mean Streak‘, ‘Midnight In Tokyo‘, ‘Forever‘, ‘Don’t Stop Runnin‘ and ‘Summertime Girls‘ have always been the perfect soundtrack to summer partying.
