KATAKLYSM offer update on 20th Anniversary DVD
by admin on Feb.21, 2011, under news
KATAKLYSM have begun the long process of putting together elements for their upcoming 20th anniversary DVD. Titled THE IRON WILL: 20 Years Determined, this documentary will begin with the band’s inception in 1991 and tell the lasting story behind of one of the most important extreme musical exports in Canada’s short 143-year history. Director & producer Tommy Jones (Lamb Of God, Soilwork, Death Angel) will catch the band’s heartbeat on the road and to put the memories together. Expected release date is Spring 2011.
The DVD will also include interviews with a wide range of characters, including the band’s infamous first frontman Sylvain Houde, who sang on the first three KATAKLYSM albums: The Mystical Gate Of Reincarnation (1993), Sorcery (1996), and Temple Of Knowledge (1999).
A single and a video clip for the title track “The Iron Will” will be recorded this summer. The massive content of the DVD will include KATAKLYSM’s upcoming headlining show at Summer Breeze Open Air in Germany where the band will perform classics from all of its eleven releases.
KATAKLSYM frontman Maurizio Iacono shares:
“This is something that we are doing first for ourselves to look back at the long and hard road traveled and to be grateful that twenty years later, this band is stronger than ever and still means something in the music world. It’s an accomplishment to exist this long and this DVD is dedicated to our fans who solely kept us alive in this destructive and turbulent scene. I decided to scrap my book idea (it was taking way too long and time is of the essence) and instead tell our story on THE IRON WILL in detail to get things off my chest once and for all. We’ve been the underdogs for so long and looking back, this is a good a place to be.”

It needed the right tour and the right point in the life of the band, and we would not do it at all unless it was perfect. We’re finally there. So everybody who’s been asking us to play the entire thing every night for years and years… you finally get your (poisonous) medicine this December!”

ARSIS announce headlining winter tour presented by MetalInjection.net
by admin on Sep.25, 2010, under news
Virginia-based melodic tech death metal masters, ARSIS, are pleased to announce their headlining tour set to take place this upcoming December! “A Tour for the Sick” is presented by MetalInjection.net and will include 8 bit metal heroes POWERGLOVE and the Sumerian Records touring juggernaut CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE.
ARSIS vocalist/guitarist Jim Malone commented:
“What does a band that is notorious for canceling tours, video game induced tendinitis, and a Noah Martin look-a-like all have in common? If you have spent the better part of your existence trying to play 16th triplet arpeggios at 250 bpm you will probably be overcome with joy (or something) to hear that we (meaning ARSIS dudes), POWERGLOVE, and CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE are teaming up for a US tour this December. We are beyond stoked for our first headlining tour in support of Starve for the Devil and hope to see you at one (or more) of the tour dates. We promise to ‘turn up the hell’ on this one and make your weekend (or week night) one that is ‘rock hard’ and metalificated.”
