CHIMAIRA will be heading out on the road for a round of dates with UNEARTH this fall on “THE JÄGERMEISTER PRESENTS TOUR“. The Jägermeister Presents Tour featuring Chimaira will begin October 10th in Kent, Ohio. The band will be touring in support of their latest record “The Age of Hell” and will be embarking on an Australian and European tour in 2012, followed by more US touring.

“We are extremely excited to hit the road with our old friends in Unearth,” says Mark Hunter. “Crazy to think that our bands have been playing shows for over 10 years but never headlined together in the states. A lot of fans have been waiting for this line-up and now the wait is over. This is going to be a blast! Our friends at Jägermeister will be supplying the fun, we’ll be blasting the tunes, and you guys bring the ruckus! I guarantee you don’t want to miss this!”

CHIMAIRA have released the following statement:

“After a decade of good times and achievements, our friend and band mate Jim LaMarca [bass] has decided to retire from CHIMAIRA. We wish him nothing but the best as he settles in and starts a family. As for seeking a replacement… we’ll cross that bridge down the line. In the meantime, consider it ‘business as usual’ with the CHIMAIRA you know and love.

Emil Werstler [DAATH guitarist] will be handling the bass duties for the rest of the year, and we’ll see you on the road!”

CHIMAIRA will embark on a short headlining tour in late November with support from IMPENDING DOOM, DAATH and THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE.

DEVILDRIVER has set “Beast” as the title of its fifth album, due on February 22, 2011 via Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at Sonic Ranch studios in Tornillo, Texas with producer Mark Lewis (TRIVIUM, CHIMAIRA, ALL THAT REMAINS) and is currently being mixed by acclaimed British producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY) at his Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England. The band recorded 14 songs during the “Beast” sessions, with 11 or 12 tracks expected to make the final cut.

CHIMAIRA CHRISTMAS 11 will take place on December 30th, 2010 at the House of Blues in Cleveland, OH. The band will be joined by special guests Ohio Sky.

CHIMAIRA currently has a CD/DVD set released, entitled Coming Alive. The set includes a four-part documentary filmed over the course of a year and a half while the entire package includes over 7 hours of exclusive content. The DVD, filmed entirely in HD, showcases CHIMAIRA in the studio while recording the Billboard-charting, The Infection, and chronicles their recent, worldwide touring season. Not only does the DVD set include this amazing documentary piece, another section, CHIMAIRA XMAS: Live Concert Film, celebrates the 10th annual CHIMAIRA Christmas show in Cleveland, Ohio, which took place on December 30th, 2009. 13 HD cameras capture CHIMAIRA releasing their fury for their hometown crowd on a dark and snowy night in December. Bonus features on the DVD include a 45 minute Resurrection: ‘Making of’ documentary, a 40 minute home-video footage documentary of never before seen moments, and a live CD featuring 17 tracks recorded at CHIMAIRA’s December 30th, 2010 Christmas show.

Supporting band and road veterans THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE also had a few words to share about the tour. “THIS OR THE APOCALYPSE is going to be playing a lot of new crowds and we couldn’t be any more excited about it,” states vocalist Ricky Armellino. “This tour is a really cool mix of bands that we’ve been familiar with and fans of for a long time; definitely an incredible way to end the year for us.
