THROWDOWN sets Brawloween 2011 dates
by admin on Oct.19, 2011, under news
THROWDOWN have revealed a slew of new details surrounding their upcoming “Brawloween” tour happening later this month. The band has confirmed a touring lineup which is comprised of both familiar faces as well as some guests.
DAVE PETERS (vocals) (Throwdown 2000 – present)
MARK MITCHELL (bass) (Throwdown 2007 – present)
DAVE NASSIE (guitar) (Bleeding Through / ex-No Use For A Name)
TIM “YOGI” WATTS (drums) (Demon Hunter, ex-The Showdown)
“I can’t say I love having a chronically fragmented lineup for Throwdown, but it does leave the door open for cool opportunities like this. I’m VERY happy to be playing these shows with Yogi and Nassie as ‘special guests’ or whatever you want to call them under the circumstances. They’re great guys and equally great musicians. It will be a cool thing for fans of the three bands too, as it’s hard to say if or when we’d share a stage in the future. The only drawback is running the risk of them setting the sound bar too high for the next time we play in our backyard,” says front man Dave Peters.
THROWDOWN will headline the first annual “BRAWLOWEEN,” a brand new tour event which will stretch across the West Coast with support from CARNIFEX, FIRST BLOOD and SUFFOKATE. The band has also made a limited number of prints of the tour poster artwork by illustrator Dave Quiggle shown above. These exclusive prints will only be available at the Chain Reaction show on 10/23, get there early!
The band will mark their first live appearances in nearly two years by presenting a fan-favorite filled set list consisting of material from classic albums like Haymaker (2003) and Vendetta (2005) alongside select tracks from Venom & Tears (2007) and their eOne music debut, Deathless (2009).
BRAWLOWEEN DATES:
10/21 – San Diego, CA @ Soma
10/22 – Bakersfield, CA @ Jerrys Pizza
10/23 – Anaheim, CA @ Chain Reaction
10/24 – Tucson, AZ @ Skrappy’s
10/25 – Phoenix, AZ @ Underground
10/26 – Las Vegas, NV @ Hard Rock Cafe
10/27 – Reno, NV @ The Alley
10/28 – Sacramento, CA @ The Boardwalk
10/29 – Temecula, CA @ The Vault
10/30 – Long Beach, CA @ Shore Ultra Lounge
10/31 – Canoga Park, CA @ Cobalt Cafe

DEATH ANGEL unveil ‘Relentless Retribution’ to be released Sep 14th in North America

Vocalist Mark Osegueda commented:
“I haven’t been as excited about the cover artwork on any other DEATH ANGEL album as I am for this one! It fits the whole theme of the album! Angry and aggressive! I think what excites me most is that Brent did the artwork based on our lyrics! It wasn’t an already finished product. When we first saw Brent’s work we were floored by the mixture of fantasy meets reality and we knew we wanted him to do the artwork for this album! In the end he surpassed our expectations with the fiercest DEATH ANGEL album cover to date! I haven’t been as excited about the cover artwork on any other DEATH ANGEL album as I am for this one! Cover artist Brent Elliot White added:
“Originally the theme of this album was betrayal by those close to you and revenge against the deceitful. After a pretty spirited conversation with Rob and emails back and forth the saying “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing” kept coming up. Basically we danced around that metaphor till it became pretty clear that a direct interpretation was the way to go. Illustrating betrayal and revenge in a single piece proved to be a challenge but as I received the lyrics to the songs things quickly fell into place.“
