by admin on Feb.15, 2012, under news
April 6th 2012 is the day! The new ACCEPT album “STALINGRAD” will be released worldwide. The previous album “Blood Of The Nations“, which was released in August 2010 was a huge success and nominated over 50 times worldwide for the “Hardrock and Metal Album Of The Year” being the most successful album of ACCEPT history. Following an extensive 180 show tour that took ACCEPT round the world twice, the band retreated into the studio to produce an album that shows them in their most purist form. “STALINGRAD” is a no compromise album from start to finish without a filler track anywhere to be found, sticking to the winning combination of working with producer Andy Sneap.
Because of the huge success of “Blood Of The Nations“, the expections are very high for the new album “STALINGRAD“. Wolf Hoffmann says “We put ourselves under enormous pressure to bring out a new album right after this tour marathon, which brought us two times around the globe. by admin on Nov.21, 2011, under news
ACCEPT has issued the following update:
“It’s always quiet just before the storm!!!! ACCEPT’s fifteen year break from the music business only served as a distant warning to the 2010 thunderous return of ACCEPT to the metal forefront. Sweat- soaked, table-sized club shows and triumphant appearances at the biggest rock festivals around the world created an excitement long not seen in the metal community. It was only natural that ACCEPT’s comeback album Blood Of The Nations entered the [German] charts at #4, the band’s highest entry in their legendary career! In addition, Blood Of The Nations charted high in countless other countries and cemented itself at #1 in many Reader Polls for a continuous 14 months! Accolades like “Album of the Year,” “Metal Anthem of the Year” and many more kept pouring in. The fans, in admiration of their heroes, flocked in the thousands to their notorious live shows, and Nuclear Blast, their record company, was salivating with satisfaction!
“Inspired by their fans’ awe-inspiring reaction to their explosive live shows as well as the grandiose success of the comeback album, the band is now excited to jump right back into the studio and record another collection of heavy metal classics. To be called Stalingrad, the new ACCEPT album is scheduled to be released via Nuclear Blast Records in the Spring of 2012. It will once again be produced by English star producer Andy Sneap who has long become a part of the ACCEPT family.
“As the saying goes… no rest for the wicked! Following the release of Stalingrad, ACCEPT will continue their unstoppable, Teutonic terror in 2012 and beyond, invading stages from North to South, from East to West, leaving all non-believers in their metallic dust!”

Following the tremendous success of ACCEPT’s comeback album Blood Of The Nations and the accompanying world tour (more than 180 shows around the globe), these German heavy metal legends have now withdrawn from the stage to start work on their next CD.
The band is currently writing material for their new album with British producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, EXODUS, NEVERMORE, ARCH ENEMY) at the helm.

SLIM JIM’s Top Ten List Of 2010
by admin on Dec.16, 2010, under editorials, reviews
Slim Jim’s Top Ten of 2010
SHOOTER JENNINGS – Black Ribbons
The 70’s big classic rock – ball trippin’ – brain smokin’ – ear melting heavy tuneage of old is not dead. Shooter Jennings has created the heaviest album of 2010. In pure sonic fury, huge epicness, and massive songwriting. This isn’t Outlaw Country, This isn’t your daddy’s classic rock, this is Shooter Jennings and Hierophant (his band) racing along your brainwaves, fucking with all you thought you knew about music, and tainting what may come in the future. Take a little WHITE STRIPES, sprinkle some MUSE, add a dash of BLACK KEYS, smoke it with some Pink Floyd and dose repeatedly with Shooter himself, and you’ll get Black Ribbons. While the music will kick your ass, the lyrics will fuck with your brain, and the whole experience will make you think this whole fucked up industry could simply be saved if they’d just put out more solid music like this. This album should propel Shooter into Arenas and onto your grid faster than the clap takes hold of your sad tiny withered cock. But it seems the world would rather listen to the likes of sluts like Ke$ha, or 16 year old pubescent boys like Beiber than embrace the monster that is Shooter and Hierophant. WAKE UP people… If you haven’t experienced Black Ribbons… GO NOW. Do it here. You’ll thank me later. Oh, yes, Don’t Feed The Animals… And… FUCK YOU I’m FAMOUS. Did I mention there are 20 songs on this disc? 20! All of them will fuck with you, tie you in psychedelic knots and drip musical ecstasy semen out of your earholes. And don’t forget the indelible STEPHEN KING. Oh yeah, how could I forgot the title track Black Ribbons? It is quite simply the best Bruce Springsteen song that he never wrote.
ELEPAHNT MOUNTAIN – The Last Days of Planet Earth
Joe Altier and Slider from BRAND NEW SIN reunite to form ELEPHANT MOUNTAIN. The best Southern tinged Hard Rock album of the last year or three, and they hail from SYRACUSE, NY! If you’ve heard of BRAND NEW SIN, and have heard their first two records, then you’ll know exactly what ELEPHANT MOUNTAIN sounds like. And you’ll love it. You can spread the herd here.
THE BLACK KEYS – Brothers
Raw. Stripped. Deeper grooves than the ones fading on your wrist. Monochromed Stereophonically challenged. Bluesier than 20 quarts of Papa’s Jambalaya. More soulful than the most devout Methodist. The more I listen to this the more I want to go find all my ex’s. And slap the unloving chaos addicted shit out of them. The ultimate break up album. As it spins right now, I’m thinking it should move UP my top ten list. Fuck it. Ten Cent Pistol just reinforced the fact. And this is now my #3 best album of 2010 (As I originally wrote this, it was set at 7). You can join the Brothers here.
FILTER – The Trouble with Angels
An amazing return for FILTER. Raw, punishing, beautiful. Read my original review here.
ACCEPT – Blood of the Nations
Another reunion of sorts for ACCEPT. A new singer and a new lease on life. A great album that reminds us all why ACCEPT are Fast as a Shark. Read my original review here.
DISTRUBED – Asylum
More melodic than the past albums. More straight forward guitar solos than before. And more David Draiman. What more could you ask from a DISTURBED album? You can join the Asylum here.
SLASH – Slash
Slash gets a bunch of singers to sing on his album instead of going around singing on theirs. Great songs, great singers like Myles Kennedy (ALTER BRIDGE), Lemmy (MOTORHEAD), Ian Astbury (THE CULT), Ozzy, Chris Cornell (AUDIOSLAVE, SOUNDGARDEN), and many more. The most notable standout track and singer is Fergie (FERGIE, BLACK EYED PEAS) on the track Beautiful Dangerous. The woman should be singing balls out Rock N Roll all the time, not this pop pap shit with BEP. She has a great voice and holds her own amongst the more traditional and legendary vocalists on this album. You can get Slashed here.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD – Nightmare
Never a big A7X fan. But after seeing them this year at the Rockstar Uproar Festival with Disturbed I found a new respect for them as a live band. I figured out my problem with the band. M. Shadows has a good voice, but as he sings about dark lyrics, and leads the crowd into chants of ‘fuck you’ his voice has a rather high range to it. Making the music seem lighter and more lilting than the lyrics therefore belying the heaviness of the music. At times making it seem rather jokish or tongue in cheek. However after seeing their amazing performance live, I now get it. And can move past the vocal issue. The album is their best by far. Blazing guitars you’ve come to expect, full stream riffs crunch and chunk along getting your head and feet involved tapping along. Definitely deserving of anyone’s top ten list. You can become the Nightmare here.
EXODUS – Exhibit B: The Human Condition
EXODUS simple continues to pummel you into submission with their latest album. It is the fourth album in their return that does not fail to impress. The one drawback may simply be Rob Dukes‘ dry vocal style. But the brutal beating that you endure while listening to the album more than makes up for the lack of dimensions in his voice. Albums 6 – 10 will continue to beat the ever loving fuck out of your brain and spleen. I have no doubts about this. The band has never sounded better, tighter, or more focused than here. Which can only mean great things on the horizon for us fans. You can witness the Human Condition here.
DEATH ANGEL – Relentless Retribution
Any year is a good year when DEATH ANGEL releases a new album. The most important part of this is that the band promises to tour endlessly for this release. So that means we get more live Death Angel than ever before. And this boys and girls is a good thing. You can read my original review here.

K.K. DOWNING says JUDAS PRIEST to tour the world in 2011
by admin on Nov.14, 2010, under news
From KKDowning.net:
“It seems that the time has come for us to put the touring wheels in motion for our next world tour in
2011!
It’s funny but these days around – about this time – I can’t help but reflect on the past when we had to
load the touring van ourselves. Sometimes in the ice and snow, being afraid that we would get frostbites
on our fingers and not be able to play the gig!
I remember one winter we had a gig at Hull City Hall in England. We were driving in heavy snow when we
hit black ice and the car hit the motorway barriers so hard that it was never able to be driven again.
However, it was fortunate that a passing farmer saved the day by letting us pile into his old Land Rover and was kind enough to drive us to the gig!
It seems just like yesterday, as they say, that we were on tour with our good friends Budgie, Accept,
Warlock, AC/DC, Saxon, Pantera… to name just a few. Very good memories indeed!
Actually, I have just received a copy of Accept‘s new album “Blood of the Nations“. And was really happy that Wolf and the boys are still creating great classic metal. I think it was back in ’81 that Priest
and Accept hit the road together for the first time and what a great tour that was! I really hope that we can meet up with the guys next year, at least on some of the festival dates and have a good laugh
when talking about the old times.
It was our great fortune, as time passed, to go on and tour with almost every band that you can think of. Some tours included very cool line-ups that many people may not even be aware of: e.g. Priest, Whitesnake & Iron Maiden / Priest, Scorpions & Def Leppard / Priest & UFO… and the list goes on.
People often ask me what it’s like to be on a tour and I always say the same things about it: simply
it’s the hardest thing that you will ever do, but you wouldn’t change it for the world. The travelling
becomes such a major part of your life that you actually feel like a piece of luggage yourself! But
I must confess when you get to go to places that you have never been before like Korea, Turkey,
Romania, Columbia etc. it’s no surprise that you feel like the luckiest man alive. I guess mainly
because for me – growing up as a kid – thinking of going to any of these places would have been
pure fantasy.”

ACCEPT’s Wolf Hoffman wants to prove to the world that they’ve still got it
by admin on Oct.18, 2010, under news
BRAVE WORDS recently interviewed ACCEPT‘s Wolf Hoffman:
Stranger things have happened. But whenever a classic act feels the creative juices flowing, yet need to find a new voice due to a death, split or other drama to complete the puzzle, it’s a recipe for disaster. Ask Mr. Iommi about the revolving door of singers post-DIO. In history, two success stories stick out; AC/DC and VAN HALEN. Nothing else comes close. So when guitar legend Wolf Hoffman‘s creative juices were flowing and he couldn’t convince Udo Dirkschneider to take another kick at the can, he started looking for the new voice of ACCEPT. You could hear a big sigh in the distance. No disrespect to former TT QUICK singer Mark Tornillo, but Accept made the disastrous call once in their career and our ears are still ringing from the ‘generation clash‘ (1989′s dismal Eat The Heat with singer David Reece). But here we are in 2010, and Hoffman‘s gut instinct is churning again. He’s got a waft of material he’d created with bassist Peter Baltes and the band needed a voice. Fast-forward to the present and Accept‘s new album, Blood Of The Nations is a blinder, even to the point of entering the German album charts at #4, marking the highest entry ever in the band’s career at home, beating out the #5 position of 1986’s Russian Roulette. So what the hell happened? Hoffman fills in the blanks with BraveWords.com below:
Hoffman: “Man, we really just wanted to prove to the world that we’ve still got it, and we got a little bit ticked off about the early people who said it couldn’t be done, which in turn made us try even harder. We wrote this whole album in two or three months. And this is all brand-new stuff. We just met Mark and figured he’s the perfect man for the gig, and we sat down and asked him whether he wanted to join us. And we called the other guys and within a day or so it was decided that we were gonna re-start Accept. And then we sat down and said, ‘oh, shit, now we need to write new songs, so let’s get to it.’ And Peter and I did, and we wrote all that stuff over the summer last year.”

ACCEPT to record Cleveland show for possible release
by admin on Oct.07, 2010, under news
Reformed heavy metal legends ACCEPT will record their October 8, 2010 concert in Cleveland, Ohio for a possible future live release. The show at the Agora will also include performances by KING’S X and Cleveland’s own SHOK PARIS.
“If there is any American city being essential in engraving our love for America, it has been Cleveland,” says ACCEPT guitarist Wolf Hoffmann. “That is where we had the first impression of being ‘KINGS IN AMERICA!’ I believe any rock band knows if you make it in Cleveland, you make it anywhere. And so we did. We can’t wait to be back!”
“I sure believe that Cleveland will be a historic night,” adds ACCEPT manager (and Wolf‘s wife) Gaby Hoffmann. “Thank you to all of our Cleveland fans who have supported the band over the years. We are looking forward to seeing you again.”
The live recording will be done by Cleveland-based Spectrum Sound, with Tony Alberts engineering. Alberts has engineered live recordings from STARZ, ANVIL, TROUBLE, TRIVIUM, RAVEN, PILEDRIVER and JAG PANZER, to name a few.
ACCEPT, in the midst of its “Blood Of The Nations” world tour, will spend two days in Cleveland. The band will make a visit to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame during the afternoon of October 7 for a private tour and then host a retail in-store signing session on October 8 at The Exchange in Parma Heights, Ohio (6271 Pearl Road) from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Nuclear Blast will provide free ACCEPT posters, pizza and soft drinks. PROGPOWER USA sells out
by admin on Sep.05, 2010, under news
Organizer Glenn Harveston now confirms that BOTH days of the ProgPower USA festival (September 8 – 11, 2010 Center Stage Atlanta Atlanta, Georgia) are officially sold out! For the first time in three years, despite a vicious downturn in the economy, this continent’s premier concert event is once again booked solid. So if you want to see the likes of KAMELOT, HAMMERFALL or the exclusive North American debut by the likes of STORMWARRIOR, DELAIN or TAROT, you’ll have to scrounge the ticket re-seller sites.
ProgPower 2010 line-up is as follows:
Mid-Week Mayhem Party – Wednesday, September 8th: ROSS THE BOSS (with special guest Scott Columbus): A Night of MANOWAR Classics, VANGOUGH, SEVEN KINGDOMS.
ProgPower USA Kick-Off – Thursday, September 9th: ACCEPT, LEPROUS, BOREALIS, SIX MINUTE CENTURY.
ProgPower USA Day 1 – Friday, September 10th: KAMELOT, NOCTURNAL RITES, TÝR, SEVENTH WONDER, LEAVES’ EYES, BLACKGUARD, ILLUSION SUITE.
ProgPower USA Day 2 – Saturday, September 11th: HAMMERFALL, TAROT, DELAIN, DGM, OCEANS OF SADNESS.
Glenn Harveston has issued the following statement regarding Kamelot‘s announcement that singer Roy Khan is unable to join them for their North American Tour due to an unknown illness:
“I would like to thank Kamelot for continuing with their tour despite the hardship. That shows pure professionalisment and class. I would also like to thank Michael (Eriksen, from fellow Norwegian outfit CIRCUS MAXIMUS) for stepping up to the plate at the very last minute to keep things going. I would not have been able to replace a headline band within only seven days before the scheduled appearance. I do understand the fan’s disappointment. However, I would say that Kamelot‘s disappointment is equal. The show must go on….”
