Show Review: The Dive Music Fest: Tribunal Records showcase 2010-09-10 Raleigh, NC

Tribunal Records is fast becoming the home for some great hard rock and heavy metal bands. Their roster runs the gamut from hardcore/emo/thrash/nu metal/ and more. Last night in Raleigh, NC they held a showcase of sorts at the DIVEbar Raleigh. For those in the area that didn’t want to be subjected to the jingly jangly rock and high ticket costs/sub par bands of the Hopscotch Fest that was taking place all over the rest of the town, this was the free haven of metal and moshing that was in direct contrast to the hipster doofus wannabes infecting the rest of the city that night.
Blatant Disarray unleashed their newest member on the capacity crowd, Patrick Strickland on bass. Their old school Bay Area Thrash sound as tight as ever, has a slightly different feel now with the bottom in coming in a little more stiff and resounding.
Jonin is one of those bands that have a near indescribable sound. Not really Nu Metal, not really Thrash, not really Math Metal, but definitely tight, technical, and solid as hell. They’ve promised they are back on the scene and have some great things up their sleeves they are getting ready to release on an unsuspecting public. So…. You’ve been warned.
Go check out both of these amazing bands. You won’t be sorry, and you’ll thank me later!
