The multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated band has just kicked off a 3-week acoustic tour called The Otis Midnight Sessions. The sold-out tour offers fans a rare opportunity to see the band perform in an intimate setting that fosters a “story teller” format allowing the band to dig deep into an extensive catalog spanning their nearly 30-year career.

In June, Goo Goo Dolls are set to hit the road again with Daughtry for an extensive summer amphitheater and arena tour. Also on the bill, performing an acoustic set, are Plain White T’s.

The tour kicks off in Wallingford, CT, on June 12th and crisscrosses North America through the end of the summer.

The Goos are touring in support of their 10th studio album Magnetic, which debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and at No. 2 on the Top Rock Albums chart, propelled by the red-hot single “Come To Me” – the fastest-growing single in the Goos‘ history.

The Goo Goo Dolls have become one of the most globally respected and influential forces in popular music history, selling more than 10 million albums since 1986. They have scored 14 Top 10 radio hits (more than any other artist in the history of the Hot AC format), including “Name,” “Slide,” and “Iris,” the latter spending nearly 12 straight months on the Billboard charts and holding the No. 1 position for 17 consecutive weeks. The band, which also features bassist Robby Takac, has toured the globe countless times, performed in front of millions of fans, received numerous awards (including four Grammy Award nominations), and recorded and released nine studio albums. Vocalist-guitarist John Rzeznik has been honored with the Songwriters Hall of Fame Hal David Starlight Award.

Bad Things Promo 2014January 15, 2014–LA rock band Bad Things – that consists of front man/lead singer Davis LeDuke, bass player Jared Palomar (formerly of Augustana), guitarist Anthony Sanudo, drummer Lena Zawaideh and lead guitarist Shaun White (professional snowboarder/skateboarder) will be releasing their debut, self-titled album January 21st on Warner Bros. Records (iTunes Pre-Order here). The record was produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliot Smith, The Vines). The lead single “Anybody, ““chugging rock anthem heavy with choirboy backing harmonies” according to Rolling Stone, is now for sale at iTunes and streaming on YouTube and Soundcloud.

Right on the heels of Bad Things‘ release, NBC is set to air “Shaun White: Russia Calling” on January 25th. The special gives an inside look at how the gold-medal-winning snowboarder prepped for the Winter Olympics in Sochi next month in addition to juggling his other commitments, including Bad Things.

Get a taste of what Bad Things are all about live, check out this video from Lollapalooza of the band covering Iggy And The Stooges’ “Search And Destroy” as well as this clip of “Anybody.” Bad Things completed a North American tour of the country last fall that included festival stops at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Osheaga Festival in Montreal and Voodoo Music and Art Experience in New Orleans, which earned the band much deserved acclaim.

Reports from Osheaga were equally as impressive. Canadian media outlet Dose.ca awarded Bad Things with the #1 Most Surprising Moment of the festival, raving about their performance. “Google ‘Bad Things’ and you’ll be inundated with articles that start with the words ‘Shaun White’s band…,’ which is totally misleading, considering how much more there is to these guys” says Dose. “They have great original material and the kind of solid musicianship and stage presence you’d expect from a group that’s been playing together for years.”

Bad Things earned their undeniable chemistry through sheer persistence and – in the case of Zawaideh, guitarist Anthony Sanudo, and lead guitarist Shaun White – a friendship forged in their San Diego hometown that dates back to their teens. In 2014 Bad Things is ready to share their electrifying sound and moving lyrics with the world. With the upcoming self-titled debut release, it’s only the beginning.  “Music is what we do,” Sanudo says. “It is all we can do and all we ever want to do. Though obviously Shaun is pretty good at a couple of other things.”

A7X-Hail To The King Album CoverDecember 9, 2013–Avenged Sevenfold’s Hail To The King is well on its way to living up to its name. The album, released by Warner Bros. Records, earned the band its second No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart, selling upwards of 159,400 units, making it the biggest first-week sales debut for a rock album this year. Hail To The King also went to No. 1 in the UK, handing the band its first chart-topping album in Britain, as well as in Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Ireland, and Finland. Avenged Sevenfold has just wrapped up sold-out tour dates in the U.S. and Europe, including a sold-out show at Wembley in the UK. With all of this momentum, Machinima, the number one global video entertainment network for young males, has announced that the Hail To The King animated series will be released on December 15 for binge-viewing on Machinima’s HappyHour channel.

From the creative minds of Avenged Sevenfold, one of rock music’s global heavyweights and a trailblazing force in fusing the worlds of music and video games, Hail To The King is a six-episode animated series, which is directed by Metalocalypse producer Jon Schnepp. The unique and innovative series tells the fictional story of the Deathbat – the band’s longtime trademark, and serves as the prologue to their highly anticipated mobile video game, “Hail to the King: Deathbat.” Accompanying the launch of the series will be a trailer for the game, which will be available early 2014. With the series launching in just days, Machinima has released an all-new trailer which can be seen below.

Tantric-Hugo FerreiraCHICAGO, IL –  Louisville-based eclectic rock act Tantric have just signed a deal with Pavement Entertainment and will release their eagerly awaited fifth studio album entitled ’37 Channels’ in September 2013. It’s the band’s first work since  their 2009 release, ‘Mind Control’.

‘37 Channels’ maintains Tantric’s tradition of exploring new directions by integrating diverse influences such as old school country, southern and classic rock and Motown with the trademark Tantric sound. Frontman Hugo Ferreira’s unique soulful baritone vocals, ranging from angsty rasps to melodious melancholy are once again present, along with  the usual intricate guitar work and infectious riffs layered over complex textures.

Featured guests on the album include Shooter Jennings and members of Hinder, 3 Doors Down, Saving Abel and Uncle Kracker. The album title comes from what Ferreira describes as “What goes on in my brain constantly; 37 things or channels if you will, all at once vying for my attention”. Typically diverse, the track selection offers unexpected content that will surely impress, as well as something for loyal fans. This album also marks a change in Tantric‘s structure, establishing it as Ferreira‘s ongoing musical project and allowing more freedom for collaborations without deviating from the established Tantric sound.

When Disturbed frontman David Draiman stamps his name on something one can’t help but take notice.  Armed with a plethora of superstar cameos, the debut album from Draiman’s latest incarnation Device is one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year.  What you are about to read may do nothing to curb that anticipation.

The album kicks off with the tracks “You Think You Know” and “Penance”, two songs that, upon first listen, scream Disturbed.  After a familiar introduction, you do indeed think you know, but the first single “Villify”, a microcosm of the entire album, reminds us that this is a different animal.  You see, many a closed-minded critic has said “Oh this is just another Disturbed album.”, but upon further listen you realize it has just enough subtle difference to distinguish itself.  Think the difference between Nickelback and Theory of a Deadman, except with some actual real talent and appeal!  Actually forget I said that, those two don’t even belong in the same conversation.  The point I’m trying to make is… you can’t expect someone with such a distinct voice and styling as Draiman to completely abandon his identity just to say he did so.  I mean, did Ozzy completely abandon who he was when he left Black Sabbath?  Exactly.  In fact that is probably the best comparison that can be made.  Ozzy left the slightly mellower, but still rockin’, Black Sabbath and found his inner madman; Draiman makes the return trip and leaves the madman behind, and finds his inner Sabbath on this album.

Appropriately enough, that brings me to two of the album’s highlights.  The first is a duet with Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), a brilliant departure from the norm, in which they cover the Ozzy/Lita classic “Close My Eyes Forever”.  Lest we forget about the Black Sabbath reference, in comes Geezer Butler to team up with Serj Tankian (System of a Down) on the politically driven “Out of Line”.  In sticking with the political theme, the party would not be complete without the help of one of the greatest guitarists of our time, Tom Morello, lending his unique styling to “Opinion”.

As if that wasn’t enough, the album’s two closers are perhaps it’s pinnacle.  M Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) lends his voice alongside Draiman’s to create the beautifully haunting, dark melody that is “Haze”; preparing us for the curtain call that is “Through It All”.  A stirring ballad featuring Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple/Black Country Communion) that virtually hypnotizes the finger and has you pressing “Repeat All” before you know what happened.

All in all, the debut album from Device is an instant candidate for Album of the Year, and will make even the most rabid of Disturbed fans forget about their hiatus, and beg for the next Device album.  This album comes VERY highly recommended, and if you don’t pick it up this Tuesday you might just be “Disturbed”!
