KIX-Band Promo 2014June 18, 2014 — For KIX, not recording any new music for two decades has been far too long. Fans have made it known for years that they want new music. And now, the time has finally come. The Maryland band is primed and ready to ROCK YOUR FACE OFF with their seventh new album set for release August 5 on Loud & Proud Records. It’s everything fans know and love them for: a raucous, roaring and real display of rock ‘n’ roll. The first single, “Love Me With Your Top Down,” will be released to radio and online retail outlets later this month. Eddie Trunk will exclusively world premiere the song during his “Friday Night Rocks” radio show originating from Q104.3 (heard in New York City, Long Island, NJ and CT) this Friday, June 20 from 11pm-2am ET. It will then air via his numerous North American syndicated affiliates on Saturday, June 20 and he’ll play it on Monday, June 23 during his “Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk” show that airs on SiriusXM’s “Hair Nation” channel (39) at 3pm PT/6pm ET.

As guitarist Brian “Damage” Forsythe explains, “When we first played ‘Love Me With Your Top Down’ live just a few months ago, it went over like gangbusters with the fans. It’s a catchy little tune with classic KIX flavor, a perfect choice for the first taste of the record.”

What makes the new album even more exciting and anticipated is that it features most of the band’s original line-up: Steve Whiteman (vocals), Brian “Damage” Forsythe (guitar), Ronnie “10/10″ Younkins (guitar), Jimmy “Chocolate” Chalfant (drums), with the exception of Mark Schenker (bass).

With ROCK YOUR FACE OFF, KIX stirs up their truest statement to date in 2014. “It’s still hot women, fast cars, and great moments,” concludes Whiteman. “I want everybody to end up on their feet, whether they’re working out or stuck in rush hour traffic. This is a release, something to lift your spirits when you need it. You can party to this one.”

KIX gracefully eased back into the public consciousness in 2008. After sold out hometown gigs, the quintet hit the stage at Rocklahoma in front of over 20,000 people, venturing out of the Mid-Atlantic for the first time in 13 years. The band was hailed by many music websites and attendees as “Best Performance” at the festival, where they played alongside Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Queesryche, Ratt, and more. After capturing their fiery reunion on 2012′s LIVE IN BALTIMORE CD & DVD, the band agreed to enter the studio once again.

“In many ways, this is for the KIX diehards as much as it is for us,” guitarist Brian Forsythe explains. “When we started doing this again, tons of fans came out of the woodwork. They’d show up with their kids, and it was just incredible to see. We had to deliver for them.”

In order to deliver, the band enlisted the talents of producer Taylor Rhodes (Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne), with whom they had last collaborated on 1991′s HOT WIRE. Also, for the first time in the group’s history, each member contributed to the writing process, fostering an extremely creative and free environment in the studio. A new dawn commenced as they simultaneously harnessed their classic spirit.

“It was more free-flowing because everybody got to write and come up with ideas,” says singer Steve Whiteman. “We encouraged this new freedom within the creative process.”

Here’s the complete track listing of ROCK YOUR FACE OFF:

1. Wheels In Motion
2. You’re Gone
3. Can’t Stop The Show
4. Rollin’ In Honey
5. Rock Your Face Off
6. All The Right Things

KIX-Band Promo 2014April 16, 2014 – Look for KIX Steve Whiteman (lead vocals), Jimmy Chalfant (drums, vocals), Ronnie Younkins (guitars), Brian Forsythe (guitars) and Mark Schenker (bass)—to release their first new album in almost two decades on July 22, thanks to their new partnership with Loud & Proud Records. What makes the project even more exciting and anticipated is that the album features the band’s original line-up, with the exception of Schenker on bass.

“The boys and I are so happy that our old friend, Tom Lipsky, has invited us to join the Loud & Proud family,” exclaims Whiteman. “We worked with Tom and Madelyn Scarpulla on our last studio album, SHOW BUSINESS, and we’re looking forward to working with them again with the release of the first new KIX album in almost 19 years! We’ll still be coming to a dump near you very soon!”

Loud & Proud Owner & President Tom Lipsky adds, “What I have always loved about KIX is they make rock ‘n roll fun. What I love about their new music is that it’s pure, genuine KIX music, straight up guitar rock with no compromise. They’re not chasing trends or trying to re-invent themselves. They’re simply doing what they do best…and now they can do it Loud and Proud!”

Marking the re-emergence of KIX in the early-2000’s, the band had teamed up a few times a year to test the waters with reunion shows in the Maryland/Pennsylvania, which were very well received. Then in the summer of 2008, KIX performed outside the mid-Atlantic for the first time in 13 years at two of the biggest rock festivals in the U.S. Rocklahoma in Pryor, OK and Rock the Bayou in Houston, TX. The band was hailed by many music websites and attendees as “Best Performance” at both festivals, where they played alongside Sammy Hagar, Alice Cooper, Tesla, Queensryche, Ratt, and more.

As the demand for new music has never subsided and in fact has only increased over the last few years, the band decided that they can no longer ignore the overtures from their fans and are currently recording new KIX songs. The new album, due out summer 2014, is produced by Taylor Rhodes, who last worked with KIX on 1991’s HOT WIRE album. Rhodes has also written hit songs for Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne and Journey.

Stay tuned for new album news, which will be announced in the coming weeks, and check out KIX on tour at any of the following stops (with more to be announced soon):

Soundtrack Of Summer Tour 2014February 4, 2014 – Combined, they’ve sold over 250 million albums worldwide.  They’ve had 36 #1 and Top 10 smash hit singles that are still being spun on Classic Rock radio over 500,000 times every year.  They’ve performed thousands of concerts worldwide to countless crowds.  Now it’s time for three of the most legendary names in rock to come together for a massive U.S. Summer tour.
STYX and FOREIGNER, with very special guest DON FELDER (former Eagles guitarist/songwriter) will join forces for the “The Soundtrack of Summer” three-month U.S. trek, which will kick-off May 16 in Oklahoma City, OK at the Zoo Amphitheatre.  Tickets for various cities go on sale starting February 7.  Fans can check out the tour’s official website, for info about all three acts, ticket on-sale dates, and more shows that will be announced in the coming weeks.
“The addition of Don Felder to ‘The Soundtrack of Summer’ tour means that the combined album sales of all 3 acts, as well as all the bands they were once members of, is well north of 200 million worldwide,” declares STYX guitarist/singer James “JY” Young “Certainly by this yardstick, ‘The Soundtrack of Summer’ has got to easily be in the Top Ten three-act concert tours to ever hit the road.  ‘Renegade’ ‘Juke Box Heroes’ partying at the ‘Hotel California’ will be your slammin’ soundtrack of a rockin’ hot summer!!!  What more could you ask for after this crazy cold winter we are having???”
“As longtime friends, we’re happy to join STYX and DON FELDER for the ultimate soundtrack of summer,” says FOREIGNER founding member and lead guitarist Mick Jones“Our combined songs are some of America’s favorite summer anthems, and we’re excited to be bringing them to our fans across the country.”
“This tour will have the best vocalists and guitarists on the road today,” exclaims DON FELDER “The sheer volume of our combined catalogs is massive and should satisfy any rock & roll fan, and rock them until they can’t walk out of the place.”
DON FELDER–former guitarist of the EaglesNew York Times best-selling author and four-time Grammy® Award winner—released his second solo album (and first since 1983), ROAD TO FOREVER, on October 9, 2012 and has been on tour throughout the U.S. ever since.  Now, to coincide with the launch of “The Soundtrack of Summer,” the album is being re-released with four additional songs, ROAD TO FOREVER: EXTENDED EDITION, on March 4 via INGrooves Music Group.  The album’s latest single, “You Don’t Have Me,” will be serviced to radio in April.  FELDER’s ROAD TO FOREVER originally debuted on Billboard’s “Heatseekers” chart at #27.  “Girls In Black,” the album’s first single, reached the Top 30 on the Mediabase Rock chart while the second single, “Wash Away,” co-written by FELDER and Styx’s Tommy Shaw and featuring Shaw’s signature vocal sound, quickly jumped to #4 on the Mediabase Classic Rock chartFELDER wrote or co-wrote all the songs and performs guitar and lead vocals on the album, which boasts a long list of iconic guest performers including:  David Crosby, Graham Nash, Stephen Stills, Steve Lukather, David Paich and Steve Porcaro of Toto, Randy Jackson, Styx’s Tommy Shaw and others. It was produced by FELDER along with Robin DiMaggio (Posse 2.0 bandleader on the “Arsenio Hall Show,” United Nations’ Musical Director).
Spawned from a Chicago basement in the early ‘70s, STYX would eventually transform into the virtual arena rock prototype by the late ’70s and early ’80s, due to a fondness for big rockers and soaring power ballads.  Over the course of their 38-year career they’ve released 15 studio albums, six best-of compilations and four live albums, garnering eight Top Ten singles. STYX has sold over 30 million albums worldwide.  Throughout their illustrious career, they’ve performed more live shows since 1999 than all of the previous years of its career combined.  Two Super Bowl appearances, Pollstar box office chart-topping tours with Def Leppard, Journey, Boston, REO Speedwagon and Bad Company (to name only a few), two more studio albums and no end in sight, STYX continues to conquer the planet, one venue at a time.
With ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits, FOREIGNER is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock acts in the world with a formidable musical arsenal that continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 75 million.  Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way From Home,” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is,” FOREIGNER continues to rock the charts more than thirty years into the game.  JUKE BOX HEROES, a new compilation of digitally recorded Foreigner hits, spent over twenty weeks on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart in 2013.  The 2008 NO END IN SIGHT album re-entered the Billboard “Top 200 Albums” chart, joining JUKE BOX HEROES in July 2013.  Additionally, JUKE BOX HEROES spent most of 2013 in the Nielsen SoundScan “Top 200 Catalog” chart.  It rose to #4 in that chart in September, an astonishing feat that allowed FOREIGNER’s catalog sales that week to eclipse those of AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Queen, Van Halen and most of their Classic Rock peers (Source: Nielsen SoundScan Top 200, September 15, 2013).
Check out “The Soundtrack of Summer” tour at any of the following stops (with more to be added in the coming weeks).  DON FELDER hits the stage at 7:00pm at every stop.  STYX and FOREIGNER will alternate closing slots as listed below.

Rock To The Rescue LogoLos Angeles, CA &  Bloomington, IL (November 21, 2013) - In response to the recent wave of storms that brought tornadoes and highly-damaging winds to the Midwest, STYX and REO SPEEDWAGON have announced that they are using their combined might to help raise funds for those affected by this tragedy. On Dec. 4, these proud members of the Midwest’s rock elite will appear with special guests (to be announced shortly) at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Illinois in a fundraiser: Rock To The Rescue Extends A Hand To Those In Need. Funds will be earmarked for affected families in central Illinois communities that were left reeling in the wake of devastating tornadoes and winds. In order to maximize charitable proceeds, the artists, along with numerous vendors, crew and local staff, have generously forgone any personal compensation for the evening.

Tickets for this performance go on sale at www.ticketmaster.com for $58, $43 and $28 (tickets are subject to applicable service charges and event time and date are subject to change). Visit www.uscellularcoliseum.com for up-to-date information. Donations to Rock to the Rescue can be made here.

STYX guitarist and IL native James “JY” Young said, “As we approach the 50th anniversary of JFK’s assassination, I’m reminded of his famous quote, ‘Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.’ The good people of Illinois lent support and a helping hand to every artist on this bill at different times in their respective careers, and we owe a tremendous debt. It’s our turn to ask what we can do for this great State, and the best way we know to help those in need is to get on stage and let the incredible healing power of music play its part in rebuilding Illinois.”

REO SPEEDWAGON singer/guitarist Kevin Cronin said, “I am Illinois born and bred. REO Speedwagon is an Illinois band. The word ‘Illinois’ is music to me. The utter devastation and human suffering in Washington, IL and the surrounding areas is heartbreaking. I believe that we need to take care of our own… the people of Illinois are our own, and we are theirs.”

“With our company being based in this area for over 40 years and my family living in Pekin which was affected by the storm, we wanted to do something to help all those affected. Everyone at Jay Goldberg Events have had friends, family members and employees who were directly impacted by the storm,” said Jay Goldberg of Jay Goldberg Events and Entertainment.

City of Bloomington Manager David Hales said, “The City of Bloomington has heavy hearts for those affected in the recent tornado outbreaks around Central Illinois. We know that our city and surrounding cities will pull together to help out and support this cause. We are glad to be hosting this benefit concert in our city.”

“We are honored and excited to be hosting this benefit concert. We are passionate about our business and know this is the best way that we could help out. Everyone involved in putting on this concert has dropped everything to make this happen, and we are looking forward to a very successful event to help those that need it,” said John Butler, President of Central Illinois Arena Management that operates the US Cellular Coliseum.

Rock to the Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, whose mission is to build strong, healthy communities through the support of grassroots organizations across the country. Rock to the Rescue originally started in 2001 as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and is the brainchild of STYX’s Tommy Shaw and REO SPEEDWAGON’s Kevin Cronin. The two musicians brought together bands and artists such as Bad Company, Journey, Survivor, Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many others to be part of “Volunteers For America” concert events in Dallas and Atlanta that ultimately raised over $775,000 for victims of 9/11, as well as the Port Authority police department in New York City. On the bands’ last tour together, the Midwest Rock N’ Roll Express, Rock to the Rescue not only raised thousands of dollars for local charities at each tour stop, but also raised $108,000 which went directly to the Boston One Fund, helping victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. STYX and REO Speedwagon’s Rock to the Rescue charity organization not only raised thousands of dollars for local charities at each tour stop, but they also raised $108,000 which will go directly to the Boston One Fund, helping victims of the Boston marathon bombings.

Donations were collected along the 21-date trek when fans purchased a silent raffle ticket to win a guitar signed by all three acts.

“Like all Americans, we have watched the events in Boston and wondered what we could do to help. We know the fans of all three bands will once again rise with us to help our friends in Boston. We Are Boston!”STYX

“We feel such sadness for those innocent people in Boston who have suffered so much and are still suffering now. We think of those victims of senseless violence as we sign the guitar which is to be donated on their behalf each night. In our small way, we do what we do.”REO Speedwagon

“The Nugent band and family are surrounded by Americans who care deeply about each other and are dedicated to give all we got in times of need. We again face a tragedy that we can all help with, and are proud of this charitable heart and soul effort.” Ted Nugent

Spearheaded by Tommy Shaw’s daughter, Hannah Shaw, Rock to the Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, whose mission is to build strong, healthy communities through the support of grassroots organizations across the country. As of last year, at every STYX tour date Rock to the Rescue partners with a local group to give back through community outreach, fundraising, and volunteer support.
